LIvonia mound
D24.26 Indian mound, Livonia, Louisiana. According to Brian Costello, Pointe Coupée historian, at least ten mounds remain within the parish and several more stood within living memory. They are believed to be used for burial purposes and are thus labeled "burial mounds." Scientists contend that the Livonia mound could have served as a burial mound for several aboriginal settlements in contact with one another along Bayou Gross Tete.
